Pita Crisps

2 6 " pita breads

2 teaspoons butter

1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

2 teaspoons dried oregano

 

Position the broiler rack 4-5 inches from the heating element and pre-

heat the broiler.

 

Split the pitas horizontally into 2 rounds. Place the halves on an

ungreased baking sheet with the rough sides up. Lightly spread them

with butter.

 

Toss together the cheese and oregano in a small bowl. Sprinkle over

hte butter. Use kitchen shears to cut each pita half into 6 wedges.

 

Broil for about 2 minutes or until the wedges are lightly browned and

the the cheese is melted. Watch closely! The wedges will become

more crispy as they cool
