Guest guest
The Rich Mushroom Sauce was posted earlier this week with other recipes, but here it is again in case you missed it. The Rich Mushroom Sauce goes with the Lentil Roulade. HOWEVER, I thought this sauce was " lacking " so I came up with my own recipe based on it -- which is also included. This one ended up being published in Southern Living, but they changed the recipe to include b**f broth, which really annoyed me. LOL! The G. Washington stuff is a little hard to find -- I buy mine at a local SDA store, but I've also seen it at *one* (not all) Kroger store. * Exported from MasterCook * Rich Mushroom Sauce Recipe By :Vegetarian Times Complete Thanksgiving Cookbook Serving Size : 16 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Great Gravies & Table Sauces Menu 6 Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 medium onion -- chopped 2 cloves garlic -- minced 1 1/2 cups cremini mushrooms -- chopped 2 1/4 cups water 3 tablespoons soy sauce 1 teaspoon vegetable bouillon powder 2 teaspoons cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup water DISSOLVED IN: 1/4 cup water salt and freshly ground black pepper -- to taste In medium saucepan, heat oil over medium heat.
