Dried Cranberry Sauce

1 cup dried cranberries

1 cup red wine

1 cup water

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons

water

 

MAKES 8 SERVINGS (2 cups)

 

This sauce imparts a wine and berry flavor that's a lovely accompaniment to

the Butternut Squash Tarts (see separate recipe).

 

Combine cranberries, wine, water and syrup in a saucepan; bring to a boil

and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in cornstarch mixture and simmer an additional

5 minutes.

 

Per Serving: 50 Calories; 0g Protein; 0g Fat; 8g Carbohydrates; 0mg

Cholesterol; 2mg Sodium; 1g Fiber.
