Guest guest
Seriously, even if you're the type of person who never does a strand test: DO A STRAND TEST when you're going to use henna. Depending on what you're using/condition of your hair/mysterious factors unknown to man or beast, you can get either really great, or really weird results with henna. I use the Lush henna, and it works great - very even, very natural color. (When my daughter was born, people kept saying she was going to have red hair just like her mom - to which I said, sure, she can buy the same brand if she wants.) It also does tend to fade all over rather than leaving stark roots, but I think I'm also lucky that it matches my natural hair color well, so it may not work so well if you're coming from a very different color. You can also control the amount of redness vs. brownness by how you handle the boring waiting part of the process (wrap in plastic and a towel for red, leave it open to the air for brown). Anyway, I've been happy with my henna-ing. Hope it works for you! -kt
