Halloween Punch

As far as a punch recipe, I don't think there could ever be a healthy

version of punch that kids would dig. Its basically liquid candy,

right? Just pick up several litres of flavored soda (the more natural

the better),and pour it into a big punch bowl. Get some vegan sherbert

(do they make that??) or some popsicles (sans stick) and plop them in

the soda. I'm thinking rootbeer and vanilla nice cream would be yummy

too. I haven't had a rootbeer float in so long. Darn, the cravings have

begun!

We've done the latex glove trick too (from Martha Stewart Living 5

years ago), but in a punch bowl with an ice face too. Maybe try to find

non latex gloves as some kids are allergic to latex. For the face,

find a sturdy plastic mask (drug store, party store, etc). Tape off the

nose, eye, and mouth holes with duct tape or any other waterproof tape.

Spray the inside of the mask with nonstick cooking spray so it will

release easily at party time. Prop it up in a bowl or dish, fill with

water, and freeze. Float the face and two hands in the punch for a

creepy effect. Plastic bugs frozen in ice cubes are fun too.

Another cool and creepy effect for punch... Get a big black couldron

and line it with dry ice (following the directions not to touch and all

that), then place your smaller punch bowl or wide mouth pitcher down

inside the cauldron. Serve witches brew to the kiddies.

Boo!
