Guest guest
That I am going to go vegetarian with my son. Yesterday I spent a lot of time on line looking for stuff for him for foods and ideas and such. In doing so I also found A LOT of information on the animals that are used for food. It was really sad to me. Of course this is something I've always known, I just never really thought to hard about it because it was to upsetting. We keep a small variety of Farm Animals here at our little homestead and the thought of them being treated the way the poor creatures are that people eat is really sad to me. So I was thinking, I am SUPPORTING the cruelty of those poor animals by buying the meat. We keep our own chickens here so I have not had to buy eggs in 2 years. I also have a neighbor that has a Dairy cow and I get free raw milk from her sweet Jersey cow, Daisy. I'm not opposed to using animal products as long as the animal is loved and treated well, but I do not want to eat animals anymore. Last night I told my son about this and he just hugged me. I told him that after doing some research and finding out some of the things I did that I have decided to go vegetarian as well. I thanked HIM for leading me to this choice. He's such a sweetie pie. So this is a new path in my life and I am eager to start down it. Guest guest
Aw, Roberta! My eyes are all welled up and I am so touched by you. We all have come to this way of life of compassion for animals in a myriad of ways. Your ah-ha experience is beautiful and inspiring. I wish you would write letters to some of the major newspapers telling your story, because it is really wonderful. In this busy world where so many humans tend to walk (or drive) around blindly, spreading ourselves so thin, honking our horns, obsessing over appearances, and never questioning conventional practices for lack of time, energy and courage, it is nice to hear of someone like your son and you. I may be going over the top here... but I've been stressed out these past couple of days, and reading your story has given my faith in humanity a little boost. Bless you, a mother who respects and trusts her son so completely that she will go out of her way to help him fulfill his need to be his true self. Not only are you there for your son, but you are joining him! Yay! Many of us would have really done well with such a strong support system when we made the change in our own lives. With a mom like you, your boy can't go wrong. Thank you, Roberta, for sharing. Nikki , " ~ Roberta Underhill ~ " <rradunderhill@e...> wrote: > > That I am going to go vegetarian with my son.
