She later posts his " review " of each day's offering. I'm not sure I'll ever be as detailed as she is, but I *love* her ideas and creativity. I imagine all of her son's classmates are pretty envious! Amy
Guest guest
Amy, thanks so much for sharing this with us!! What an awesome blog. This mom makes me oh-so envious. I recently pulled my kids out of daycare and hired a " nanny " who keeps my daughters (ages 2 and 3) every day and my son (4 months) 2-3 days a week. She comes to our house in the morning, then they go to her house for the middle of the day (she has dogs, too) where they eat lunch. She respects our veg lifestyle, but normally feeds them stuff I'm not crazy about like grilled cheese. I can't be too much of a hard-ass because there isn't anyone to replace her with - it took me three years to find her - but I would prefer much more nutritious meals than what she gives them. The girls would absolutely LOVE packed lunches like these. Time for me to get off my momma but and get busy. In that spirit, yesterday I bought Mollie Katzen's " Salad People " cook book. I think we are going to have a great time with it! Guest guest
I hate PB & J she only gets it when Daddy packs lunch or she begs for it. Though - I typically only pack her (main entree) what I can stuff inside a whole wheat pita. Along with several sides of fruits/veggies/soy yoghurt. I worry I pack enough food.. I don't want her to get hungry so that she wants the crap they serve at school. I don't trust any of the school food as far as not having meat/animal products in it. But no PB & J in our lunch box. Guest guest
Thanks, Amy, for the tip on this awesome blog! LOVE IT! Made me hungry, actually. I hope she keeps sharing her wonderful ideas and recipes online. I'm forunate enough to be able to stay home with my toddler and make him yummy lunches too, but I hope that by the time he is in school I will still have the energy and creativity like that way cool mom.
