They could keep a box of Tufutti Cuties or Soy Delicious ice cream sandwiches in their freezer just for her, and that way still feel like they were treating her (like grandparents looooove to do!). Not sure how old your daughter is, but if she feels comfortable telling her granddad herself that she like the vegan treats, he might respond more positively? Good luck!
