Guest guest
Thanks so much for the recommendations! We're looking forward to getting Syma on the right track! ~Faith egardeners wrote: Hi Faith, We have four vegan dogs. They are very healthy, happy, and energetic. The oldest two (5 & 7 years) transitioned to a vegan diet a year and a half ago when we did. The two youngest (1 year old sisters) were adopted at 9 weeks and we transitioned them to a vegan diet at that time. There are some web sites and books on the subject. You can do a search on Vegetarian or Vegan Dogs: you'll find a handful of different prepared food options as well as literature on making your own food. We have been very happy with Wow-Bow's veggie crunch kibble. We use this as our dogs' main meal staple and then also give them some of whatever we are eating. If you're going to make your own food, there is a supplement called Vegedog that you can add to the food. It insures that your dog gets all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients he/she needs. Congratulations on adopting a cruelty free diet for your dog! Melissa In a message dated 7/20/05 9:57:34 A.M. For some reason I had assumed that buying dog food at the health food store (with ingredients that sounded like real food and not by-products) was good enough. Well, now that I've gotten to thinking about it, I'm set on changing my dogs diet to a cruelty-free diet. So here's a call out for vegetarian/vegan dog food recipes and ideas. I look forward to hearing from the group. You all always have such awesome ideas! And a huge thank you in advance...
