I don't think they'd work, really (too smooshy), but it might be worth trying and worst case scenario, you'd have a bag of yummy marshmallows minus a couple of burnt ones. The Tiny Trapeze vegan marshmallows do roast nicely, but they're insanely expensive. (They carry them in some stores, or you can order them from their website - www.tinytrapeze.com). Hope your kids have a great time! -kt
Guest guest
Hmm interesting Vegetarians don't like organized sports... in my thought that's a bit too biased.... my guess is the study group probably researched on a small group of vegetarians from a particular area on a wider range i am sure this will prove incorrect... This is like saying women dislike watching sports personally I love sports.. although i dislike watching certain sports like American Football/Baseball/or ice hockey etc although I enjoy watching/ playing other games tennis, volleyball, soccer and my Husband is major sports fan.. any sport and he'll be there to watch and comment on it;) and so are most of our family members (who are all vegetarians) Shree --- wrote: Message: 1 Tue, 28 Jun 2005 08:28:11 EDT TeaLovingWriter Re: Digest Number 1171 In a message dated 6/28/2005 4:24:53 AM Pacific Standard Time, writes: The informal research I've done, in Philadelphia, is that the vast majority of the people that are members of local vegetarian groups have zero interest in sports. For some people, they lack interest because their lives are too busy to just sit around and watch a game. Some of the local members don't enjoy competitive sports because of the win/lose result, which is believed to cause people to be less compassionate towards each other. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but there is a whole line of thinking in this area. Other members don't like the professional sports teams because so many are big supporters of hunting animals. Others simply don't enjoy sports because they are more interested in spending their free time enjoying the public service efforts they are apart of.?// I'd say it's more likely just the people you seem to know and associate with. I know other vegetarians that love sports as much as we do. It's a such an out of line blanket statement to say that vegetarians don't like organized sports. It's mentalities like that cause the rest of the population to think vegetarians/vegetarianism is weird. It's ridiculous. Jacqueline

Guest guest
Hey kt, You're right, Tiny Trapeze marshmallows are expensive. According to Ayis Antoniou at TT, they also aren't vegan or vegetarian. They contain gelatin. ( Oh well, onward with my search! Guest guest
kt, Okay, Ayis Antoniou wrote back saying that Tiny Trapeze does have a vegan version of the marshmallows and the price is $7.25 (ouch!) if ordered from them. Unfortunately, I think I may have to pay this price if I can't find a less expensive version. I've tried making them myself but have never had any luck. They taste good, but look awful and wouldn't roast.
