Guest guest
Hi All I have been trying to read up and understnad what 'organic' means. I am wondering if you can help me understand it better. Specially about what makes a food item organic? I read mostly about pesticides and fertilizers. and i understand that any vegitable or fruit (crop) gorwn without the use of harmful chemical fertilizer and pesticides fall under organic category. and in regards to diary products, it also extends to usage of antibiotics to cows that produce the milk. But what other things are looked into when a food item is certified as 'organic'. 1. Does genetically modified plants/crops fall into this category? 2. I have heard that milking cows are fed meat, is that so? is this considered non-organic? 3. do you know of any websites that give more information about these things? any informaation in this regards will be of great use thankyou in advance Shree
