Guest guest Posted May 8, 2005 Report Share Posted May 8, 2005 Frozen vegetarian food recalled over unlisted egg ingredients Associated Press WASHINGTON - A California-based vegetarian food company is recalling more than 3,100 cases of frozen food products because they may contain undeclared whole eggs or egg albumen powder, which can be deadly to people allergic to them. YTS Group Inc. of El Monte, Calif., said the recall covers these YTS Veggie Food, YTS Products and Kimbo brand products: Veggie Golden Roast, Liang Zen Golden Ham, Veggie Curry Ham, Veggie Lamb, Vegetarian Smoked Drum Stick, Mushroom Cake, New Century Veggie and Veggie Steamboat Flavoring. The YTS Veggie Food and YTS Products brand containers have yellow labels, the Kimbo containers have green labels. The recall affects the 2.2-pound, 1-pound, 12-ounce and 10-ounce containers which have expiration dates from April 27, 2004 to April 27, 2005. The dates are stamped in black on the bottom of the packages. The products were distributed nationwide, mainly in California, Minnesota, New York, Utah and Washington. YTS said no illnesses have been linked to the product. The Food and Drug Administration is cooperating in the recall. Consumers can return the product to the place of purchase for a refund.
