Guest guest
Before you get too bummed about cookie monster... We haven't watched sesame street here in a while (ds doesn't get tv time until homeschool is done, and sesame street is on at 8am), but we watched it this morning so that i could see what the fuss was about for an article i am writing. anyway, cookie monster did not sing his song today, nor did he eat the letter of the day cookie that he used to. The letter of the day was just a big green foam thing that he pretended was a chocolate chip cookie (with sprinkles), and then he gobbled it in true cookie style. The show talked a lot about getting enough rest, exercise, and healthy eating. Something was mentioned in almost every segment. As for the " cookie is a sometime food " ... In the article i read, when the song is done, he asks " is sometime now? " He is told, " yes " and gets a cookie. He still stuffs his face, and he will still eat cookies (though not always choc chip... some healthier options, too), and he will still eat the occational object (like the letter E this morning). Some was obvious, some was more subtle, but the show spent a lot of time on good health today. A lot of focus on veggies, rest, and exercise. My 5 year old was jumping, hopping, and running with them as they invited him to do it, too. Hope this helps. CIndy
