Supersize Me

I watched Supersize Me with my 6-year-old daughter and my 9-year-old son. I

wasn't too happy about the sex talk and that they showed the man getting an anal

exam, but felt it was definitely worth it for them to see the film.

 

We talked about the film during and after, and I think both kids got a lot out

of it. It kind of confirmed what I always tell them, and they realized that

those things really are unhealthy, that it's not just mom telling them what to

do. =)

 

My son tells all his friends all about it, it really clarified things for him.

My daughter definitely needed the talks with me to clarify the film a little

more, but I think she was very impressed by it.

 

In the extras, they show McDonald's fries over the course of weeks and weeks,

and they never get moldy or spoil or look any different than when they were

first bought. Both kids are totally grossed out by this (I sure am!) and it

really reinforced why mom never takes them to fast food places!

 

As an aside, I was in Wal-mart (before we stopped going) and we walked passed

the McDonald's in the store. My son read the sign out loud, " McNuggets " , and

both kids loudly said, " what's a McNugget? " . I was sooooo happy!
