Guest guest
scarlett fever is caused by a strain of group A Streptococcus (sore throat, fever enlarged lymph nodes.. etc). Rheumatic Fever is an inflammatory disease that may develop as a delayed reaction to inadequately treated group A beta-hemolytic streptococcal infection of the upper respiratory tract. It can develop 1-5 weeks of symptom free weeks after the recovery of a sore throat or scarlett fever. If someone has developed Rheumatic fever there can be permanent damage done to the heart muscle and the heart valves. As a nurse, I have cared for several adults who have had open heart surgery to repair mitral valves that were damaged from Rheumatic fever. I am a strong vergetarian (almost vegan) person who does not like modern medicine (despite my occupation) and who prefers non-traditional methods of healing.. but when it comes to my children and strep throat.. I do not mess around.. I have seen the end results of untreated or inadequately treated strep throat. FYI laurie laurie
