Guest guest
Wow - you guys have a lot of threads going on at one time! I am new to group. I have three kids - 10 year old son, 6 year old daughter, and 9 month old son. I became vegetarian when my first son was about three years old, so the other two have always been vegetarian. Health and ethical and spiritual reasons all mixed together! My daughter nursed exclusively for the entire first year, and then just ate food with us. She weaned completely when she was 4 months from her fourth birthday. My baby son is nursing but eats lots of food because he wants and needs it! We live near a Whole Foods Market, where we do all of our grocery shopping. Our store is very well-kept, very friendly and helpful, clean and fresh, etc. We do have live lobsters, but I don't mind. Our meat and seafood section is way in the back. When I walk into the store I am bombarded by tons and tons of fresh fruits and veggies - yeah! Even the cheese section is in the very far back corner. We strive to be vegan, but can't be perfect! I didn't know that Kraft bought out Boca, but I have to say that it suddenly makes sense! I used to shop at Wal-mart for my in-between bread and soymilk needs (Whole Foods is an hour away, but now I have finally been able to boycott Wal-mart for good) and happened to notice that the Boca Burgers I buy at Whole Food have no hydrogenated oil in them, but the ones at Wal-mart do!!!!!!!!! By the way, I also noticed that Heinz ketchup sold in Wal-mart has a different # plastic than the one sold in Whole Foods, the Whole Foods being safer, of course. I also wanted to say that most mainstream candles contain a lead piece throughout the wick and is not safe to burn in your home, especially with children! If you look down at the wick, you can usually see the silver. My Dillards store in the mall carries fabulous soy candles at very reasonable prices. Anyway, I am so glad to be a part of this group!
