Guest guest
This is something I wondered about - even my meat eating husband doesn't eat McDonald's, so it's not really an issue for my family. When they introduced the yogurt parfait I never gave it a second thought because it's lowfat and I assumed it had gelatin. Does anyone know if that's the case or not? Also, to the person who asked about the VitaMix - I am incredibly happy with mine. I probably wouldn't have bought it if I hadn't been on a post-pregnancy hormone high ($300 for a *blender*???), but it is way, way better than a normal blender. We bought it " to make baby food " , which it does well, but I think we used it for that maybe half a dozen times. Mostly I make smoothies and soups. We've also done some of the stranger things, like making bread from wheat berries with it, and that's fun, but time-consuming and messy, so we don't do that often. (And while it is relatively easy to clean, it's still not as instantaneous and hands-off as the advertising would like you to believe.) I don't know if extraction juicing is ever better than blending up the whole thing. I don't like eating oranges, but I keep getting guilted by the whole " but if you just drink oj, you're missing out on all this lovely fiber! " thing, so it's definitely a mind-easer there. (And no pulp like regular home-squeezed oj. Fresh, but with a non-repulsive texture, how can you go wrong?) -kt Message: 12 Sat, 19 Mar 2005 04:20:58 -0000 " Alan " <soy_decaf_latte Re: McVeggie Burger Day to day, my family and I may occassionally eat at a fast food restaurant (and when I do I'm grateful for the veggie burger and yogurt parfait) or buy foods from a conglomerate that I'd rather not support in principle. But, not as often as last year. As somebody said, this is a journey where we continually strive toward making changes (sometimes modest, sometimes radical) to better align our behaviors with our ideals. - Alan
