Guest guest
We have a summer cabin in a small rural community. I wouldn't call the place veg hostile but I wouldn't call it veg friendly either. They sell 3 foot long strips of beef jerky at the cash register of the only grocery store in town(which is a mom and pop grocery, not a chain.) About two years ago, I was shocked to see Silk on the shelves and Gardenburgers in the freezer case. As others have pointed out these are not markets that would carry some of these products without the muscle of big business behind them. There is a learning curve to becoming vegetarian and I think that making these food items accessible and a little more mainstream can only be positive for the masses.
