Guest guest
From another list, I learned of the following website: <www.charitynavigator.org> They track the vast majority of charitable organizations in the U.S. and give a detailed accounting of the value-for-money for each. You can look at the track record of all animal rights organizations, for example, or only those in your state. One fact I found interesting....there was an animal rights organization on their " worst 10 list " . Nearly 100% of all fundraising went to administrative costs instead of to their mission. FWIW, that organization is: Foundation to Support Animal Protection (in Virginia). If you become a member of the website (free), you can request that they investigate a charity that's not already on their list (it happens -- there are so many), and get more detailed info on any of the organizations. It seems to be a well-run website in every way. Liz
