Guest guest
Thank you so much to all who replied. We went to have a visit with the cat, and it was terrified of my energetic 5 year-old--much to his devistation. Relatives are going to keep the cat until a good home is found--no shelters for him. yeah! We are in the process now if looking for another kitty... one that will 'click' with my little guy. As for the food looking like meat or not--he reads everything he sees, and that includes the packages of everything we buy (not much else to do when mom takes you shopping, I guess). I've been trying to teach him label reading for our food, so I guess I wouldn't want to teach him not to read the cat food container (though the thought of what is in it really does make me feel kinda sick). We have a friend who is a vet and explained to him that cats have to eat meat or they go blind. He wants to take good care of his cat, so he wants to feed it what it needs, but he did point out that he's not the one eating it. I think I was stressing out over something that he will deal with much better than I will. I'd like to look into making the vegan cat food that was recommended, but I would be so worried that I would not do it right and the kitty would suffer. Anyway, we still have no cat for now. I just wanted to thank all of you for your ideas and suggestions. Hopefully we can find a cat that is the right fit for ds. Cindy Check out the new Front Page. www.
