Giving tofu to babies (was: Re:Introduction - Hi! New to the Group)

On what basis do they suggest waiting? After all, babies who are not

fortunate enough to be breastfed are often given soy formula right

from birth. It is true that soy is one of the common allergens, but

then, so is cow's milk. I would proceed with the same caution you

would apply to any food introduction: small amounts, wait to see if

there is a reaction, etc. Are there a lot of food sensitivities in

your family?

I read that it is a common allergen and its better to

wait till their digestive systems are more developed

before feeding them whole milk or soy products? I dont

know if it make sense to me but I plan on waiting

awhile...I'm in no rush as he gets his main nutrition

still from breastmilk.
