Guest guest
Thanks! I'm going to try the Asian Noodles with Garlic Peanut sauce and see if my kids will eat it. I'm sure I can experiment with plain peanut butter, but I might order their products, too. They aren't organic, unfortunately.... Laura who suggested lentil burgers, could you please post your recipe? My kids don't like the texture of lentils, but food processors can do wonders! I think they are too picky for other suggestions, though. I can't get them to eat non peanut nut butters but I can keep trying. Perhaps a mixture? Of course their tastes are quite discerning at 13 and 9! Soy milk is hard to get away from. They are set in their ways, and the Pacific Ultra has so much protein, and they usually only drink like 3/4 cup a day.... What I didn't mention is that my son (the soccer athlete) seems to be border-line hypoglycemic. He has a tendency toward large mood swings. A couple of years ago we were literally at our wits end. He would get so angry and unreasonable. His appetite has picked up lately, and I'm very diligent about getting protein into him, as well as B12 and a multivitamin (still a chewable at 13, he does not swallow pills at all) That's why I feel I have to give him what he likes to eat. That's why our diet is so soy-intensive. Things seem to have stabilized and he seems to be able to handle himself better now. Knock on wood! From what I gather hypoglycemia is very hard to diagnose and they say it's quite rare. Perhaps he just gets extreme low blood sugar when he doesn't eat right. I don't know. I can't get doctors to be helpful and I can't talk my son into more blood tests (another story)! He of course denies he has a problem. Anyway, for right now things are going better.
