Guest guest
Hi All I wanted to share two books I am currently reading with you all. They are really great, although they talk about almost opposite things. The first is " Above All Be Kind " by Zoe Weil. She writes about raising humane children in todays society. There are chapters that talk about advertising and modeling among many other things. I am finding it to ver interesting. The other book is " Queen Bees and Wannabees " by Rosalind Wiseman. It is about raising adolescent and pre-adolescent girls. I have a ten year old who is just getting to the age where girls start to get into cliques and get very mean to each other. My daughter is not part of the " popular " group. Sometimes the girls in that group can be mean to her. It is really hard. I want to be able to help her get through without giving up on the values that I want her to have. I don't know how many of you have girls of this age or even littler girls who will eventually be this age but this is a great book for any mom of a girl. If anyone has read either of these books I'd love to hear what you thought of them. Carol Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at HotJobs

Carol, Even though I have a son, I know quite a bit about this book. Rosalind lives locally here in the D.C. area. She offers programs for teachers, parents and other people that care about girls in schools. The programs are national. She is working on a book about boys next.
