My dd is 3 and just starting to really talk about how we don't eat eggs because that would hurt the chickens, " but some people eat the eggs, and that's okay too. " It's really something to watch a kid learn values that are so easy and natural - it's their natural inclination to be non-violent and loving toward animals, and as long as you don't tell them lies (ie: the animals want to give us their milk and eggs so we can be strong and healthy) I think it's really easy to help them to understand ethical veganism.
