I've been nursing since October 2000 when my first child was born and

continue to nurse my second child who was born in May 2003. As a result,

I'm as thin as a toothpick and no matter how much or what I eat, I can't

keep any weight on. I am a vegan and I eat nuts and nut butter daily, make

tofu-banana-coconut soy shakes daily, use olive oil daily, eat breads

daily, etc. but still can't gain those extra pounds. Does any one know of

any weight-gain diets that might work for me? I don't want to use any

protein supplements or similar supplements. I just want to rely solely on

food if possible.

Are you unhealthy? Do you lack energy? (Silly question to a mother of 2, I

know!) Maybe you are just meant to be where you are on the weight scales

right now. Since it sounds like you are eating plenty of healthy, fatty,

carb foods...you are probably okay. Don't feel pressured to gain weight (or

lose it) in order to conform to society's standards.

If you are healthy and eating a variety of foods, there is no real

need for you to gain weight.

Have you calculated how many calories you are eating? You can use

fitday.com to do that.

Good luck
