I really don't have any advice but I'll offer my moral support. I have just begun trying to explain to my daughter (she's almost 3) why we don't eat meat. I'm sure your son will understand. You sound like you're going about it the right way. It is a comfort knowing that there are others out there that are aware of animal welfare. Take care.
