Guest guest
Mits, I have lived in houses with air cleaners, and they helped so much. I know, from working on aircraft, Honeywell is a very good company. We always had better experiences with their product support than with some of the other brands we had on the jet. As far as asking them to do a duct cleaning, I would say, it never hurts to ask, the worse thing they can do is say no and give you prices. But you may be surprised that they would agree to it, since you are making such a large investment now anyways, and spring is not too far away. Good luck with that. We are unsure about a whole house air cleaner that can be installed at the time of the furnace. It's a Honeywell and it's supposed to trap particles down to 0.3 microns. Dh has allergies and I have the worlds worst sinus'. According to the salesman, this will help us. We are looking for real life experience to make this decision. Does anybody have any experience with these whole house air cleaners? Are they worth the money? (about 700.00 at the time furnace is installed) Do they help with air quality? Does anybody have a family member in the heating biz that would know? Also, tell me if I am off base with this but I was thinking if we do decide to go with the furnace and air cleaner from this company would I be out of line asking them to throw in duct cleaning in the spring for free? (about a 250.00 value) After all we will be spending 4000.00 on the furnace and air cleaner. All opinions and experiences welcome. Guest guest
Ok, I talked to my husband, he owns a heating and cooling company. First he said that YES the air cleaners help and that they are worth spending money on, but he said that it sounds like you are being charged way too much for what you are getting and thinks that you should get a couple of other estimates before committing.
