I'm kind of going through the same thing, although my

daughter is only 8 mos., I've been back at work for

about the same amount of time as you.

Some things I was told to do: try to nurse as often as

possible, since the baby will stimulate your milk

supply better than any machine. (Theoretically,

anyway. I always find I pump less on Mondays and after

holidays, when it's supposed to be the opposite.) Rent

a medical-grade breast pump for a month or more, if

you're not already. Drink lots more fluids than you

think you need. Cut out caffeine. Eat almonds.

The one thing I've found works the best is fenugreek.

I'm not an herbalist, but this is how I was told to

take it: 30 drops 3x per day (I use HerbPharm liquid

extract, amount may be different depending on your

brand) for 3-5 days, until the milk comes back in.

Unlike a lot of subtle herbal remedies, you will know

when it works - there will be a drastic difference in

feeling full and possibly increased leakage. (Sleep on

a towel if you don't want to wake up in a pool of

milk.) When it does come in, stop taking the fenugreek

for at least a week. This usually holds me for a month

or two, depending on other factors. (I got really sick

and dehydrated about three weeks ago, and I'm just now

getting production back up.)

I also drink mother's milk tea, but I just like the

taste, I really don't think it makes any difference.

Also try contacting your local La Leche League leader

- they'll probably be able to give you even more ideas

about how to stimulate supply.

diminish and now.. it

seems like it is hardly there at all and she is inly

10 months old! I

want to breast feed her longer.. help!! any

suggestions or am I just

unlucky. I keep well hydrated during the day, or at

do... thanks for suggestions.. laurie
