[bSE-L] question about maternal transmission stats

BSE-L

######## Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy #########

Hello,

Does anyone have any hard info on maternal transmission stats for BSE?

I understand it's possible, though the incidence is low. Still, is it

1%? 10%? Can anyone distinguish between a prenatal infection and

postnatal infection from, say, a contaminated placenta?

Thank you in advance for all your kind help. I am on deadline so if

anyone knows the answer fast, that's even better.

Best,

Janet Ginsburg
