That is such a good point that people have been making about the

difference between pbs and other, commercial, tv. As a veg*n group,

the commercials are probably the biggest concern to us, and they are

blessedly absent from pbs. Even Discovery Channel and TLC have very

different ads than those found in Nickelodeon - and some of the Nick

shows are probably okay, but the commercials just overwhelm the

value. And Michelle's study was very interesting.

I am fairly sure tv will be part of my son's life at some point -

but I'm still trying to hold back since he's only 21 months and is

my only one and I'm at home with him. Let me tell you, it would be

overly tempting if he didn't take naps, or if I had another little

one. Whoever said we can't just send our children outside to play

anymore is right. We feel that they need constant supervision - I

don't know if the world is more dangerous or we're just more aware

but I'm not leaving my baby alone yet!

The one mom, I forgot who, who said she did notice a chance in

daughter's demeanor in watching tv - could you elaborate on that?

Thanks everyone for such thoughtful discussion on this topic.
