Guest guest
Here's a recipe I thought some of you may want to try. I've tried it and it's pretty good. I've put what I, as a vegan use in parenthesis, but you can make it vegetarian if you'd like also by following the original recipe. My kids prefer that I leave out the raisins. They love raisins but only when they eat them alone - never mixed in anything except Raisin Bran type cereals. I, on the other hand love these with the raisins or other dried fruits (especially apricots). They make a great lunch box item. God's Peace, Gayle Chewy Granola Bars 1 cup brown sugar (I mix unsulphered molasses with turbinado sugar to get brown sugar) 2/3 cup peanut butter (I use natural) 1/2 cup honey (I use Brown rice syrup) 1/2 cup melted butter (I use Earth Balance) 2 teaspoons vanilla Mix together in a large bowl. Then add: 3 cups oats 1/2 cup coconut 1/2 cup sunflower seeds 1/2 cup raisins 1/3 cup wheat germ 2 teaspoons sesame seeds (toasting them first really adds a nutty flavor) 1 cup chocolate chips (vegan type) Stir in well. Then press into a greased Texas sheet pan. Bake 20 minutes at 350 F. Cut while still warm, then let cool before serving
