Guest guest
Hi, I just joined and I would like to introduce ourselves. We are a family of four from New York. I am Susan.....and I have two kids, Jake 5 and Naomi 3 1/2. Both my kids are the average kid.....except Naomi was born with a cleft lip and palate and horrible GERD/reflux (stomach problems). Jake was a premie but has over come most the of the premie issues and is the run-of-the-mill kindergardener. Because Naomi has many eating issues (or as they call it a feeding disorder) I am looking for quick tasty foods that can be prepared easily. We also try to stay away from odd colors, preservatives, and of course hydrogenated oils!!!!!! I was hoping that maybe somebody could recommend ...maybe some frozen products like veggie nuggets or such that taste good and that your kids like. I haven't really tried anything because years ago I remember buying something and it was a fortune but tasted HORRRIBLE!!!!! Please send specific brands and you recommend and I will check if they are sold in New York. Anyway, that's us in a nutshell. I hope to learn and participate in your group. Thanks, Susan
Guest guest
mmmmmm --fast food! Quorn SoyBoy ravioli Mexican Pizzas (tortilla -- spread with refried beans -- spread with frozen corn (do not thaw) -- spread with soy cheese -- bake at 375F for 20 minutes and serve with guacamole, salsa and soy sour cream) Trader Joe's has a lot of quick meals that are wonderful, just check the ingredients, not all are vegetarian/vegan. I am Hadass, live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, with DH and 3 kids - Rafi, 7, Ari, almost 4, and Shira, almost 7 months. Ari was born with a giant omphalocele so I hear ya on the miracle kid stuff ... 5 surgeries later he's OK. Has Naomi had surgery for her cleft lip/palate? Are you looking at fundoplication for the GERD, or are the meds helping? As to your questions, Rafi loves Veggie Patch chick'n nuggets, warmed up in the microwave, and Ari is big on the Yves veggie dogs and bologna, eaten cold right out of the package ... and neither will eat what the other one eats! Good luck ... Be well, Hadass in Winnipeg.
