Guest guest
As far as I know, WholeSoy is still independent. I have emailed them several times in the past and always received a personal email back from Ted Norquist, the CEO. Here's their website: http://www.wholesoycom.com/index.html I think their yogurt is the best and until I found the Soy Delicious Purely Decadent soy ice cream I thought Glace was the best. Silk is apparently owned by a big dairy company (or so I read on this newsgroup a while back) - is this true? I only eat Annie's burgers now - the Texas burger is to die for. As for ravioli, try the SOYBOY ravioli. Its delicious - but I haven't ever thought about who owns them... off to do more research.. Boca is owned by Kraft. Then there's Annies and Gardenburger. Oooh...lest we forget Ives and Smart stuff.....I lose track. Isn't it all becoming rather incestuous? I mean, who owns Silk? Who owns Whole Soy? It's nuts. I vote for going with only organic soy products. I'm sure there's a flaw in my logic though........it's neverending!! A very close friend of mine help start the company in Rochester NY. I'm not sure who owns them now. Their beginings are truely humble. Let me know if you want the very sweet story. They have great tofu and tempeh as well. Peace, Laura
Guest guest
Silk (White Wave) used to be a local company here in Boulder, CO, but was bought out by Dean Foods a while back. They may still be running their production separately from Dean Foods (I don't know), but they are owned by them. I still buy Silk, though. It is good stuff.
