Guest guest
Had a clipping from a newspaper article about Rose Levy Berenbaum's Pie Bible, with her open-face " designer " apple pie in it. I've had this about 10 years, and today I made it. Well, I used her apple filling etc., but used the Moosewood Desserts crust (I didn't feel like fussing with her needs-to-be-chilled-at-least-one-hour crust, since the apples were already going to be a fuss! :-)) The apple slices are all up on their sides, and the result is a pie that looks like a flower! It was beautiful, if I do say so myself. Anyway, there's a pic in the photo section under Amy (not sure when it will move to Chanda's photo site). Guest guest
> now that is pretty! did it taste as good as it looks??? Thanks, Jenni! I was very good and didn't eat any (I've given up sugar completely for January, trying to drop the habit of eating too much of it); I took it into DH's office. However, the folks there raved over it. One lady even wrote DH an email saying it was the best crust she'd ever tasted.
