Carry fig in hand upstairs.

Set fig down on floor while carefully opening rat cage door.

Place fig on top of Rat's food dish.

Carefully shut door as not to catch rat's paws in the door.

Watch as rat eats it all up and looks at you as if to smile and say, " thanks! "

 

That's what I did.
