We do like Murfreesboro! Lots of interesting Civil War history here-you

can stand on the field where the battles took place. We went to a live

history display on New Years, it was so interesting.

But we moved here from small town, AR! So I guess I just expected

this town to have everything, you know the big city and all! : )

Nashville has Wild Oats, but I feel like using that much gas to buy

stuff is contributing to killing the environment!

I do combine trips, and hit the big time stores all in one day about

once a month!

I have never been to Augusta? I have been to Atlanta and Savanah,

though they were both cool cities in different ways. Never imagined

I'd be living in the south ( I grew up in Cleve, Oh and lived in

Cincinnati for a looooong time, yep, I'm one of those Yankees : )

Yep, the woods 're literally full of history around Murfreesboro, aren't

they?

I can see that you'd think everything would be there, comin' from a small

town in Arkansas. Ohhh yeah. <laughs>

If you combine and consolidate trips, like you said, you could go to Whole

Foods and get a passle of stuff. Take your ice chest (that's what we

Southerners call a " cooler " , LOL) with you and just stock up. That's what dh

and I are gonna do tomorrow when we sally forth to 14 Carrot. Woo hoo! I

cain't wait (typin' the way I talk).

Augusta is between Savannah and Atlanta. It's full of history in its own

right, and its claim to fame right now is the Masters Golf Tournament.

But--if you're not a golf fan, and I'm not--there is so much more to it.

They're tryin' to diversify and draw more folks to come here with other

avenues for tourism. And there sure is a lot to do that with! BEAUTIFUL old

houses and buildings, gracious folks, history by the boxful, farms that grow

stuff organically and will sell to you for a price/U-pick-em farms, (when

the season starts in April, dh and I'll be hittin' the produce trail! lol)

lovely green areas all throughout Augusta proper...on and on I could go but

that'll give you a little taste of Augusta. :>) And we've only lived here

about three months now!

You're a Yankee, huh? Well...I reckon that's all right. <BG> My dh is a

Northerner too. I'm a native Texan, but part Tennessean too, on my Mother's

side. I lived up North in Pennsylvania and NY State for seven years with

dh till I got so plumb homesick for the Southland I could hardly stand it.

He saw I'd never be happy till I got home, so with the Lord's help he found

a job first in Florida...and now here...and we LOVE it here, want to stay

here till we pass from this life. It's already *home*. It's soooo much

quieter and slower in pace than the bright lights and freneticness of

Orlando. Which is what we like...peace and quiet...ahhhhh!
