daily cookbook " by ann gentry ($24.95) for christmas and

simply love it. all recipes are vegan and they are simple

and flavorful, just the way i like them. "

In digest#405 Donna wrote: I do know this company,

[worthington-loma linda] and most of their products

taste awful to me. They have been around a long time.

I wonder if it's not popular here since we have such a

wide variety of other products. "

~ Yes, same here... i have not seen them widely distributed.

i have tried the Worthington veggie dogs that come in a can

though, and gross as they sound [and look *lol*] i do like

them best of any veggie dog i've tried yet. They are just small

and you need to eat two to fill a regular hot dog bun.

Now back to Loma Linda... in one of the early Linda McCartney

cookbooks there is a picture of a bunch of vegetarian meat

analogs in the pantry section of the book, and most all of the

products are Worthington Loma-Linda items. That makes

me wonder if these were more widely distributed over across

the pond in England. Kellogs makes Morning Star Farms,

too i think, and i see way more of these products than i have

ever seen of the Loma-Linda. But the local SDA church here

is listed as a place where i could find Worthington products

and also that mail order hippy catalog from TN carries a lot of

Worthington, too. :)

In digest#405 Gayle posted: " HI Melissa: I also make a mock

tuna salad however I use garbanzo beans (chick peas)

I mash them up and a little bit mayo and mustard, and then

you can add whatever you would have added to tuna. Celery,

scallions, pickle relish. Mix it up and chill. eat and enjoy "

~ This is the best mock-tuna sandwich filler i have ever

tried, and way easier than tracking down that " suspicious " tuno

stuff. *lol* Thank you very much for having shared this idea

in the past, Gayle; i tried it and loved it. i add chopped green

onions, dill pickle relish, salad supreme, chopped celery, and

Vegenaise to mine. Mmmmm
