Guest guest
My WOK is definitely heavy enough to be steel. I am not positive that it is rust. But what comes off on the paper towel is more of an orange than brown. And the center it is black from use. Is it possible that the " rust " color you are seeing is just the " seasoning " that naturally occurs? Are you sure it is actually rust? Most likely your wok is made from steel (although the cover may be aluminum). After using the wok, it shouldn't ever be shiny new. Like a well seasoned cast iron pan, your wok should eventually have a seasoned coating on it, that could be light to dark brown colored. Guest guest
We don't have a wok yet; we've always used our trusty cast iron skillet for stirand it works real good. Sounds like your wok has seasonin' in it, Colleen, to me, because of your attesting to the fact that it is black in the center from use. By the way, Colleen, your name is my dear daughter's middle name. :>) Such a lovely name, wouldn't you agree? Bron, who just remembered the rice is probably just about cooked thru...runnin' to save it! On 1/4/06, Dove <Dove wrote: > > My WOK is definitely heavy enough to be steel.
