Toast of white wine with 12 grapes dropped into the glass at the stroke of 12am. Don't ask me, it's something my husband from Yucatan brought along into the marriage and we do this each year. " ~ Very cool! i have never heard of that tradition before. My only tradition is to welcome the new year with candlelight and a verse said at the welcoming door. It would be nice if a dark-haired lad would come to the house for a first-footing blessing, but that tradition is not common in these parts, so i make do keeping Hogmanay in my own manner. ~ pt ~ Winter lies too long in country towns; hangs on until it is stale and shabby, old and sullen. ~ Willa Cather (1873 - 1947), My Antonia
