I have the Excalibur also and love it. The square trays are so much

easier to work with than the round ones with the hole in the center,

but the Nesco ones are only about $50 - $70. Just depends what you

are going to use it for.

Price is about $219.00 for Excalibur and well worth it. I had to put

mine in the laundry room as no more room in my kitchen. I like the

fact that it has the variable temperature. I did not get one with the

timer (due to the price), but bought a timer for about $6.00 that

plugs into the socket and into the cord for the dehydrator.

Donna: what more would you use it for other than breadcrumbs? Fruit

leather is wonderful. We have fruit trees so I dehydrate fruit, but to

buy fruit to dehydrate would probably not be cost effective.
