Guest guest
Thanks for the invite...this looks like a well-designed group...heck, just from the pretty pictures flashing by as I read the group description. Nice to see I'm Andrew, currently an ovo-lacto vegetarian who has tried more than once to convert to veganism and made it for a few days. Old habits die hard. My proudest moment was three weeks, which included the Thanksgiving holiday and a visit by my roommate's parents, who like to eat at places like Black Eyed Pea and Applebee's...and I made it work! Like I said, though, old habits die hard, and the first was my tendency to not enjoy cooking. Hence, fast food becomes a major food of choice and not easy to work with in terms of variety. In addition, so many of my standby's include eggs or dairy that it was difficult to work around that. Happily, I like soy milk, and the unsweetened Silk works in everything I've tried. The first time I made mashed potatoes with Xen (the soy milk with the panda bear on the carton...I've got a soft spot for pandas, and who doesn't?) I could taste this sweet soy aftertaste and I didn't like it. Silk is working out for me. Even the regular, though I prefer the unsweetened personally (that's the green carton). Have I rambled enough? I look forward looking at the recipes and getting to know everyone. Usually I have to go " special notices " and just check in from time to time, because I can rarely keep up with groups. Occasionally there's an exception, but usually those are the slower groups Thanks again for the invite, and nice to meet everyone.
