Guest guest
I used a tablespoon of light karo per cup of powdered sugar... a drop of vanilla, and added a bit of lemon juice to cut the sweetness. They took a while to dry completely, but when they did they were really hard, enough to survive traveling etc intact, but not so hard that biting them was any notice... I'm pretty sure it would work if anyone was trying to glue a vegan gingerbread house together. I did actually eat two before they left the house... next time I will add more lemon juice, but I didn't put a lot on the cookies, which aren't incredibly sweet to begin with, so it was ok, but by itself the icing is very sweet.
