Guest guest
Blessed Solstice to you, Denise! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Kwanzaa, and a Festivus for the rest of us! *lol* i just love this time of year. So many wonderful ways to celebrate the season. ~ pt ~ Every winter, When the great sun has turned his face away, The earth goes down into a vale of grief, And fasts, and weeps, and shrouds herself in sables, Leaving her wedding-garlands to decay-- Then leaps in spring to his returning kisses. ~ Charles Kingsley (1819 - 1875), Saint's Tragedy (act III, sc. 1) ~~~*~~~*~~~> replying to this digest#338 post: " organic_homestead " <organic_homestead..> Re: happy Holidays or Happy Christmas? OT Well, I probably shouldn't go here, but I'd just like to say that I prefer Happy Holidays because I celebrate Winter Solstice (today), christmas, boxing day and New Year's. It's a holiday season and I celebrate it in a secular way. There are many wonderful cultures that make up this country and I think it quite appropriate to include everyone. Historically christmas was created to dissuade the Pagans (people living outside of Rome) from celebrating Winter Solstice. The christmas tree is actually from this old earth based religion.
