Guest guest Posted December 21, 2005 Report Share Posted December 21, 2005 BRAUNE ZUCKER PLATZCHEN (Brown Sugar Cookies) (Yield: 4 dozen) 2 cups self-rising flour 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar 2/3 cup shortening 2 eggs 2 tablespoons milk 1 tablespoon grated orange rind 1 cup raisins 1/2 cup chopped walnuts Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray cookie sheets with non-stick vegetable spray. In a medium bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, and cloves; set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs, milk, and orange rind; beat until well blended. Add flour, beating until well blended. Stir in raisins and walnuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets.
