I'm assuming someplace warm?? after shoveling for a really long time, I can't move very well right now. each shovelful was close to 10 lbs so do the math with 500 ft of driveway : ). if I had a clue how to upload pictures, I would post a snowman picture in next few days : ). my cousin taught school in Texas for quite awhile and would take back coolers of snow so her students could see it : ). our biggest drift right now goes up to my shoulder and I'm 5'8 " . I honestly don't remember having this much before winter officially begins. oh well, lots of snow stirs the creative cooking juices : ). there seems to be nothing better than a pot of soup or beans simmering on back of stove with bread in the oven, Christmas music playing, and watching the snow fall : ). take care............ Guest guest
After living most of my life up north, in various places, my husband and I retired down to south Florida. While we experienced a little bit of snow on our Thanksgiving trip to Chicago, we can just do without snow any more. Of course we are still paying through the nose for post-Hurricane Wilma repairs. One of the great things about here is the great variety of fruits and vegetables, especially at farmers markets. I'm still learning about what they are and what to do with them. I have experimented with the spinach- like leaves of the yucca plant, called Caliloo. I have learned to make it so it tastes something like it does at the Jamaican restaurants. I find fresh okra, fresh papaya, an abundance of plantains (I have a great recipe for plantain soup), and whole bunches of stuff I still can't identify. from Maida Citizens for Pets in Condos, http://www.petsincondos.org South Florida Vegetarian Events, http://www.soflavegevents.net
