Guest guest Posted December 10, 2005 Report Share Posted December 10, 2005 CAREFREE GINGERSNAPS (Yield: 6 dozen) 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 egg 1/4 cup molasses 2 1/4 cups self-rising flour 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves Sugar In a medium bowl, combine butter, sugar, egg, and molasses; beat until well blended. Add flour and spices, mixing until well blended. Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375°. Spray baking sheets with non-stick vegetable spray. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of the dough into balls. Roll in sugar. Place on prepared baking sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until just set. Cool on a wire rack.
