Oh men make wonderful vegetarians and if my nephew Mo could do it at age 17 and

stick to it, ( he's 24 now) any male can. Look at our group poster guy Paul.

He has really worked hard and is learning more each day with the rest of us.

Once you make the change it will be easier to work some of those vegetarian

dishes into the weekly dinners. I know Chanda is living proof of that. Just be

patient and there's no guarantee they will make a complete change but there is

always hope.

Happy you are with us and if you have any questions just toss them to the

group.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I like it here already. I havne't had a

chance to browse the files. Yule and family and shopping and all. But as soon

as the New Year comes I'll be digging around for some new recipes. My family

is not looking forward to the change in lifestyle but I think if I can find some

new and tempting recipes they will come around okay. DD pretty much just likes

food so she's easy. The men... well, men are men.

Looking forward to getting to know you all,

True Donna and heather and all,

I have my family down to eating meat once per week, and that includes fish or

---- not red meat anyway.

I still meet with some adversity, but they know I am right, and looking out for

them, so it's not nasty adversity really.

They have begun to open up to new dishes and enjoy a lot of foods as the main

course now, like the cabbage au gratin recipe in the recipe files for instance,

or a veggie Thai dish I make, or spaghetti with garlic bread, they don't miss

the meat there.

I still get comments when they go to sit down, " where is the meat " but once they

start eating they enjoy it and shutup, LOL.

I just try my best to give them a lot of variety, and the dishes they really

like I repeat often.

I find that if I get a good bread to go with the meal, the conversation turns to

how good the bread is. I don't bake it, I buy it ;O)

another way is to have a dessert for them to look forward to after, if they know

that is coming they are more agreeable. you can do dessert without a ton of

sugar too. There are subs that are actually good for you like pure maple syrup

and cane juice etc.

Just stick to it, you will be fine. it's been one year for me, this month is my

one year anniversary. It's been great.

hugs,

Chanda
