I was at Big Lots and the 99 Cent Store just now. They both have 8 ounces of

cumin for 79 cents, one had 8 ounces of granulated garlic for 59 cents and 1/2

lb chili powder for 89 cents. If you look in the Latin markets in the spice

area they have large quantities of spices for a good price, they are usually

hanging on the wall in cellophane baggies.

This is a well appreciated gift, I make rubs and spices in skakers and jar

often. Fancy tall thin bottles of vinegar with sprigs of fresh herbs inside

make nice gifts also. Many people make their own salad dressings and these come

in handy. I like doing this instead of playing with glitter and the glue gun

and buring myself.LOL I'm so not the arts and craft person.

The whole gift in a jar thing sounds like an awesome

idea!
