How to Peel a Mango

 

Slice through the mango as close to the pit as possible, not quite in the

center, right next to the pit. Place the mango skin side down on the cutting

board (I hold in the palm of my hand but you better not until you are used to

doing this).

Now take a sharp paring knife and slice the flesh in squares like a

checkerboard (don't cut through the skin just down to the skin. Now pick up the

mango piece and fold back, almost like you are going to turn inside out. The

cubes will stand right up. Now lightly slide the knife under the cubes. You

not only peeled the mango but you have cubed it. Do this all the way around the

pit.
