thanks everyone/new finds

thanks for prayers everyone : ). thankfully he doesn't leave for

another month or 2 but he does get to come home for Christmas. kids

are very excited : ). Christmas will be the last we see him till

sometime middle of 2007. the holidays are taking on a very special

meaning this year as my hubby, his brother, and my sister's hubby

are all going to be here (all military). I have a long list of stuff

to do to try and make it as special as possible and yet

unstressful : ). the top of the list today is shoveling--about 6 "

worth--UGH!

took the kids to a bigger coop yesterday and were they

impressed : ). mind you, it probably wasn't the greatest day to

travel but it wasn't snowy or yuck till trip home and then it was

bad. thankfully we were on the side of the interstate we were and

missed the pileup : ). found French lentils, hulled barley (my fav),

seitan, vegan PB cookies for kids, ruby red Swiss chard, TVP chunks,

and Sunspire vegan baking chips (reasonable and yummy). kids also

picked out a loaf of French bread fresh from their bakery. Jacob's

eyes were bulging at all the breads--he really wants to have his own

bakery when he grows up : ). I also picked up a sandwich from their

deli and wow--I thought of everyone here who likes spicy stuff. it

was a vegan cashew-jalapeno spread on sourdough with red onion,

tomato, and fresh spinach leaves. I am going to have to find a

recipe for it or experiment to clone it--it was awesome : ). their

bulk area was unsurpassed as was the produce section from anything I

have seen yet : ). I can't wait till I need to stock up again and go

back : ). hope everyone has a good weekend--after church today is

mushroom-barley soup/fresh bread for supper. I have to find a good

recipe for the Swiss chard and I have one for Polenta Lasagna that

includes it but may look around some more : ). take care : ).....
